Mesterolone blocks the aromatase enzyme which converts testosterone to estrogen and reduces circulating estrogen levels. So it helps bodybuilders avoid the estrogen side effects produced by other anabolic steroids. Proviron which is used to treat different forms of sexual dysfunction, is known as androgen mesterolone, but it is not strong enough to build muscles. Because it is quickly reduced to inactive metabolites in muscle tissue, a trait also characteristic of Dihydrotestosterone.

Proviron gives result in disordes of libido and potency, recovery from poor memory, irritability, and lack of concentration.  It gives result in the treatment of sexual dysfunction and increases the sperm count. Aromatizable drugs such as Proviron that is favored in a cycle wherein highly aromatizable agents are used, are notorious for causing excessive water retention and gynecomastia. It is a good drug which is also used as a post anabolic steroid cycle therapy as it can hasten sperm production to restore sexual functions.
